April Evening Meeting 2008

The eighth meeting of our 2007/08 season will be on Thursday, 17th April at 8pm. A demonstration of gouache painting will be given by Clifford Knight and the subject will be 'Industrial Decay'. (demo location)

January Evening Meeting 2008

The fifth meeting of our 2007/08 season was held on Thursday, 17th January. Anthony Slinn gave an enjoyable and informative slide lecture on Van Gogh with his usual enthusiastic delivery .  (demo location)

January Workshop 2008

There was a Sculpture Workshop run by Val Kyle on 12th January 2008 at St Leonard's Hall, Heath & Reach 10am - 4pm.It was greatly enjoyed by those attending and some very good work was produced.

December Evening Meeting 2007

The fourth meeting of our 2007/08 season was our Christmas Social evening (by Tickets only) and was on the SECOND Thursday, 13th December at 7:30pm
It began with a excellent short  demonstration  on Chinese Brush Painting  given by Jean Turton.
This was followed by plenty of food and drink so the latter gave a good excuse for recognising hardly any of the pictures of paintings hung on the wall by Barbara Harris.
 It was an enjoyable party game nevertheless and someone got nearly all of them right - a tea-totaller I suspect!

November Evening Meeting 2007

The third meeting of our 2007/08 season was on Thursday, 15th November at 8pm. The demonstration was  an Experimental Still Life in very flowing Watercolour given by Jackie Devereux.  (demo location)

October Evening Meeting 2007

The second meeting of our 2007/08 season was on Thursday, 18th October at 8pm. The demonstration was of a Marine Painting in Mixed Media given by Derek Daniels. It was particularly good.

September Evening Meeting 2007

The first meeting of our 2007/08 season is on 20th September. It will start with the AGM and will be followed by a demonstration given by Bob Harris of a watercolour landscape painting using a limited palette.  (demo location)

This Open exhibition and sale was held on Saturday, 1st and Sunday, 2nd September 2007 in St. Mary's Church, Woburn.

Two outdoor painting days were arranged for LBAS members 
The first on Thursday, 9 August at Bellows Mill, Eaton Bray and the second on Thursday, 23 August at Aston P.Y.O. Fruit Farm, Ivinghoe where you can paint sunflowers (or whatever you like)

June Demonstration 2007

This was on Thursday, 21 June, our last demonstration evening this season. Paul Howard gave a demonstration of how to paint nighttime scenes in acrylics, fairgrounds in his case, when the lighting is also in the picture. He also made interesting remarks about Fairground History.  (demo location)

Christmas Social 2006

This was held on Thursday, 14 Dec. at 7:30pm. In addition to the food and wine it included an unusual demonstration of painting with encaustic wax. The LBAS Christmas Tree made by Les Franklin for the tree festival was on show [click here to see].

June Demonstration 2006

This was on Thursday, 15 June, our last demonstration evening this season. Sue Ellen Wilder could not manage to come and was replaced by Robert Newark who used Pen/Ink Line Wash & Watercolour to paint Salisbury Cathedral.  (demo location)

The LBAS Spring Exhibition and Sale

held at Leighton Middle School will be open to the public each day at 10am from Wednesday 31st May to Saturday 3rd June 2006 (admission free).  There will also be a private view evening for LBAS members and their guests on Tuesday 30th May.

at which Liz Relfe painted a stunning Still Life by
freely using watercolour & acrylic inks with soluble pastels.

On this evening we used our newly purchased digital projector and screen for the first time - which was a great success.

St. Mary's, Woburn Art Exhibition and Sale 2004  

Paintings, Ceramics, Patchwork and Quilting

was held Saturday, 4th September to Monday, 6th September 2004 and was very successful.

 This Exhibition was Supported by Leighton Buzzard Art Society and other local art societies.

The weekend coincided with the Woburn Oyster Festival that attracts thousands of people to the town.
