St. Mary's Woburn Art Exhibition and Sale 2005 

Paintings, Sculpture, Ceramics, Patchwork and Quilting

Saturday, 3rd September and Sunday, 4th September 2005 (preview evening by invitation Friday 2nd September)

 The Exhibition is Supported by Bedford Art Society, Leighton Buzzard Art Society, Milton Keynes Society of Artists & Toddington Art Society

 

The 2005 Exhibition took place as planned

 

 

Summary

A total of 96 artist entered 437 artworks in the exhibition 

and 56 artists (58%) had at least one sale.

In total, 75 pictures and other artworks were sold.

 

 

 

There is a little uncertainty about next year's Woburn Exhibition.

Further news will be available late spring 2006.

 

The following notes have been left on the website for information only!

 

St. Mary's, Woburn, is pleased to announce that this year we shall again hold our Art Exhibition.
It includes the weekend when the Woburn Oyster Festival attracts thousands of people to the town.

 

2005 Exhibition Timetable

Entrants may submit up to a total of 6 artworks. If these are paintings, then a maximum of only 4 framed and 2 unframed applies, (unframed  paintings to be in standard sized mounts where possible).
The artists directory will be a folder of A4 pages. 
You are therefore invited to submit one A4 page about yourself and your art.

This year it will be a condition of entry that all exhibitors undertake a minimum of one stewarding session or agree to help in some other way during the period 30 Aug to 5 Sep 2005 (see application form).

We should be grateful if you would  let other artists know of this event. In particular if you know of anyone working in ceramics, patchwork and quilting who might like to take advantage of this opportunity please ask them to telephone 01525 270363.

Notes & Conditions

 1. A hanging fee of £2 per framed picture and 50p per unframed picture will be made, ceramics and items of patchwork and quilting £2 each item. All exhibition items must be the artist original work and for sale. Send the fee with your entry application forms and cheques should be made out to: SMWAE (or St. Mary’s Woburn Art Exhibition).  Note that no more than 6 artworks in total may be submitted

 2. A 20% commission will be charged on all sales. Funds raised will be donated to St Mary's Church, Woburn.

 3. All framed paintings should be ready to hang (i.e. securely framed and properly strung). Unframed paintings should be mounted and covered with transparent film (not cling film). Please indicate with an asterisk any unframed entry over 14"-18". On receipt of entry, you will be sent adhesive 'back' labels to check the details and to attach to your exhibits. When handing-in work you will be given 'display' labels for each exhibit to be attached so that they can be seen from the front.

 4. Whilst every possible care will be taken with exhibits, the organisers cannot accept responsibility for theft and/or damage. Each exhibitor must make his or her own insurance arrangements, if required.

 5. Entries should be handed in at the church (opposite the Park Street car park) on Wednesday 31st August from 10am–12 noon or 6pm–8pm.  All unsold entries must be collected on Mon. 5th September from 2pm–4pm or from 6pm–8pm.

6. All entries will be exhibited if possible but this will be dependent on the number of entries and the available space. The committee reserve the right not to hang any picture that is not properly framed and suitably strung.

7. There will be a preview of the Exhibition on Friday 2nd September with Cheese and Wine from 6 pm-8 pm. Entry will be free and each exhibitor may invite 2 guests. There will also be an opportunity to make a donation to the church.

 8. It is vital that we have sufficient stewarding cover and it is a condition of entry that all exhibitors undertake a minimum of one stewarding session or agree to help in some other way during the period 30 Aug to 5 Sep 2005.. Please indicate on the stewarding form the times you are available, and return it with your entry. Non-exhibiting volunteer stewards will also be welcome.
